Backfire

This post was actually from about 9 months ago, but I didn't post it at the time

Jameson is home from school with a rash that is dumb and viral and there is nothing I can do about it- except be forced to keep him home from school- which I don't like to do since he's no longer contagious and he has no other symptoms. Which means he has all the energy in the world to tease Liam all the live long day. And we're on day two. Heaven help me. One of my strategies is to put them in a room together for timeout and not let them come out until they are ready to be nice to each other. It usually works. Today I told them if they continued in their shenanigans I would put them in the timeout room together. Liam got psyched and said in his brotherly secretive voice, "Jameson, lets do it again!" I think the kid is happy to have his brother home all day long even if they are at each other's throats. So much for my latest strategy.

After a day and a half of being at home I decided to do something C-R-A-Z-Y. I took them both to Target. Many moms can handle that kind of thing with many more kids in tow, but I never do that. I usually do Target with Liam only when Hattie and Jameson are in school. Jameson doesn't even know about Target. I have told him that toy stores are places where children just cry because they want everything and they can't have anything. Mean me. I know places like that will just make us both crazy. Why then, would I torture myself so? The real reason I did it is because that's the only place I know of around here that has caffeine free diet Pepsi from the fountain and I needed one. Plus, I had some stuff to return. Plus, I needed to get out of the house. That bad.

But it wasn't too bad. Jameson had some money from his birthday to spend and since he knew he could get a little something, he knew it was a limited amount and therefore he decided not to be too difficult. Hooray. We all survived. And I feel better.

There isn't really a moral to my story. I just wanted to share.
